All racial slurs are inappropriate regardless of the color of the victim. Of course, don't expect anyone to get upset over slurs like honky, cracker or white trash. Even Whitey is OK with the mods on C-D, so it must be a perfectly acceptable slur.
I've seen touchy white people before, not even touchy over an ethnic slur touchy over this line in a song
"Prepare for my nine o' clock work meeting
A couple pale folks slide right by with no greeting
But the people with my phenotype follow with a head-nod up
Because we acknowledge that the ****'s ****ed up"
And called the song racist, wtf?
But the reason white people generally or at least some of them don't get as offended by those word is because they don't have the institutional oppression behind them, while "******" and "beaner" for example do, it just isn't the same
Why are white people not offended by slurs like kracker, honky or white trash?
Racist/ Nazi, is probaly the most offensive slur to a white person
Who says they arent? Tell you what . Why dont you come on down to my southern town and start using those words calling names and find out for your self .
Stuff like that doesn't bother me because if someone calls me a name...any name they have just admitted that they have no argument against me and they know it...they've just lost any debate we had. Them calling me a name is their frustration announcing that I bested them...
It might be that white people don't have a great sense of dignity. Seems that blacks and hispanics will risk death before losing their dignity as they define it. Lots of whites are taught to avoid a fight; be friends; retreat; go tell someone in authority whereas blacks and hispanics will stand their ground no matter what happens. Have to admire that. And yes, I realize I am generalizing about a large population of people and I am going on limited experience and anecdotal evidence. Good Puerto Rican friend who grew up in Spanish Harlem educated me on that point of view. Said he has seen PR guys daring someone with a gun to shoot if they had the cajones. Rough neighborhood.
