Teen girls that want to get around, are going to get around. Once they turn 18 they can buy cigarettes, doesn't mean that they are going to when that happens does it? there are plenty of 18 year old girls that can work at strip clubs, but they don't all do they? If they want to buy smokes they will, if they want to work at a strip club, they will, if they want to become a hooker, they will, if they don't they don't.

And adults who foster this behavior should be held accountable in any circumstance. As a society we have recognized 18 as the age in which you are able to make decisions as an adult... and this definitely qualifies as an adult decision.... regardless of money being part of the transaction or not.

So what?
The Age of Consent there is also 15 (as it is in Sweden). I guess all you champions for 'adult' decisions will be lining up to support lowering the age of consent as well, eh?
I mean, that's they way they do it in ____________(fill in the blank with whatever country helps make a case for trash), so it must be ok!

The age of consent in 43 states is below 18. Mostly 16, and 14 in a few states. What does that have to do with anything, except that fact that so many people who think they are experts on such subjects don't even know what the age of consent is in their own state.

Is there one good reason why Prostitution should not ne Legal? It goes on everywhere but it is called having a good night out. There are women who go to bars, get a guy to buy them drinks or dinner with the reward of sex afterwards. Maybe not cash but payment anyway. No one whines about that.

OK, then if 23 year old women, 37 year old women (so on and so forth) want to hook and strip they are going to. Age aside, people are going to do these things no matter who likes it. But really, parents CAN'T do a lot about it unless they want to have their kid under 24 hour surveillance, plenty of girls with good upbringings got around. That doesn't mean that they don't regret it later in life, it just means that it's gonna happen
Not to mention that there are countries with legal prostitution and teeny bopper 18 year old's don't flock in unison to get a job app the second they graduate. But If you want to talk about girls and even ones under 18 being in prostitution; let's take a good look... Now wouldn't one think that in a black market (which is what illegal hooking is) there might be a higher chance of finding a prostitute that isn't even of age? How many 13 year old hookers will you find in a Nevada brothel? Now what are the chances of finding a 13 year old street hooker? I'm sorry , but that kind of seals it right there. So please, think of the children...
Prostitution as we know it is black market, thus the only regulation we have for it is in the form of reactionary pseudo justice. Hookers get beat, kidnapped on and on in a Nevada brothel there is a man with a gun that will kindly escort you to the parking lot for even trying such a thing. Not to mention, the prostitutes get STD tested regularly, they are assured condoms and have a million times the security that an alley rendezvous does.
I'm sure that no one wants to see their kid turn out to be a hooker, but I would much rather see them in a secure area than on a street corner - that's just better for all. And lastly, we should have learned long ago that when it comes to vice, making it illegal usually worsens the situation.

Sorry to drag this old thread up again, but I had a thought today. (Sometimes I think slowly). Back in the good old days, charity bazaars used to have a "kissing booth", where a pretty girl would kiss you for a quarter, donated to charity, acompanied by lots of ribald remarks from your friends.
Let's expand that. At a charity event, there is a booth where a girl will kiss you on the cheek for a buck, on the lips for two, and for $3, accompanied by a nice warm hug. Five buskc you can cop a feel, $10 under her sweater. $15, she'll grab you, $25 shell do more than that, $50 orally, $100 for an hour, $200 all night. She gets none of the money, it all goes to the designated charity.
At what point does it become prostitution?

To trade money or security for affection is prostitution.
