If there weren't clients called johns there wouldn't be prostitutes,so it is a two-way street This doesn't make sense...

I agree with the MG for all the reasons he stated. I feel drugs should be legalized for the same reasons. It is a lot easier to victimize prostitutes and drug users when there are no controls and regulation over them, only punishment.

Escort services are legal here in Victoria. They need business licenses and are treated like any other business. They even offer senior's discounts, advertise in a local news paper and take all major credit cards. On the other hand there are still many prostitutes walking the streets, but sadly most of these are either very young, addicted or both. Many of the street walkers are also HIV positive.

And in Holland the prostitutes are protected by law (they pay taxes like everyone else) so criminals do not have a hold on them anymore.

I think I belong in Holland, they seem pretty laid back about everything...

So if I pick up a girl at the bar, buy her drinks, food and gifts and at the end of the night take her home and she invites me in for sex am I breaking the law? I bought that sex with drinks, food and gifts rather then cold hard cash. That makes it legal. Hmmmmm

How stupid is this law? I exist in Nevada now. Prostitution is legal in every single county except Clark County which is where Las Vegas is. The Brothels send buses to Vegas to carry out the patrons to Pahrump or Beatty. There are 2 licensed legal escort service companies in Clark County which has been grandfathered in from even before the mob times. They stay legal if they promise not to offer sex. Yea right.

What's the difference between Prostitution and Alimony?

Prostitution You pay and You get the piece.......
Alimony You still pay but Some One Else gets the piece.......

Legalize Prostitution will mean:

In addition to female prostitutes serving men; we would have to have male prostitutes serving females; females serving females; males serving males; of course all these types of services already exist. Each type of prostitute will require licensing per their individual or multiple specialties.

In order to have licensing; we need statutory requirements, that need to be met. A whole government bureaucracy would be created to establish these requirement and standards. There would be a written exam, to establish that the prospective licensee is knowledge in the regulations. In addition, a practical exam to determine competency with certified government inspectors for these qualifications. Field inspectors would be required to spot check all types of specialties, making sure that they have excessive government pay and benefits so they do not “lay down on the job”.

Schools would be established to train applicants to pass the specific government written and “bed test”. ah, yes, the Happy Hooker School.

It will become a field of Academia with technical specialized degrees at all levels. Universities will establish chairs or should I say “beds” and have research centers. There will be contracts with government agencies to train professional inspectors.

The military would have have to establish new occupational hooker specialities with elisted and officer grades. trained in combat sex.

We would have associations that would create certifications such as: CMW (Certified Master Wh*****) etc,, There would be conventions, meetings, events and all the activities that go with a professional organization. These organizations would need lobbyist in D.C. Legislators would expect free samples.

There would be magazines, tasting clubs, group events, gourmet shops, bargain services, coupons. Let us not forget mandatory assisted services for the the disabled and handicapped.

It would be an excellent spectator sport with local and national professional teams; a good use of a football stadium in the off season.

Yes, this would be an excellent industry. It will have a low carbon footprint. It uses resources readily available that can be locally grown, organically and naturally replenished, renewalble, earth friendly. It will not generate burdensome waste. The industry can be create in all areas, with minimal cost and environmental damage. Most importantly, the jobs cannot be exported or done remotely from overseas. A great tax generating activity that would balance the deficit.

Yes, we can train our young with the 5 H clubs with the addition of “Harlotry” and Scouting Merit Badges.

It would lend itself to a mobile service, emblazoned with a Big Red Light, driving around the neighborhood like the Ice Cream Man.

Sounds Good! There are numerous problems that need to be solved, especially when these professionals unionize. A national strike would be devastating, I do not think that union busting “scabs” will be sufficient .

Can you belive I knew the words to that song when I was a kid. We had O C Smiths album and it was also being played on the radio stations in London continuously.

Thanks for the reminder.
