Is it just me, or does it seem like tattoos have gone from being an ex-con, almost all male thing to a chick thing? I've read the numbers are now equal, only slightly more males have them, and when you consider the males who got them many years ago, it makes sense most of the people getting them now are women.
Anyway, a couple questions:
1. Do you like this look on women?
2. What is the origin? Feminism and female empowerment, or does it reflect the decline in class across the board in society (i'm NOT saying feminism lacks class, quite the opposite)? Is it neither of these?
3. Are tattoos a trend like big hair, or something we can expect to be just as cool in 2050?
When I see a girl with a tattoo, it makes me seriously wonder what kinds of people she hangs out with, who will be impressed by her tattoo. Or, who got her drunk enough that they could persuade her to go and get a tattoo.
I love women with tats, my wife has 2. 1 on her shoulder one on her ankle, she is sexy with them, i think any woman with tats is hot as long as they dont go overboard with them.

I got my tat for myself and could care less what other people think. I put it in a place that is easily covered for work.

I wonder the same thing when I see a woman WITHOUT a tattoo!!! If it's in good taste a tattoo looks good on a woman.
Tattoos, just another symbol of the controlled sub-culture. It vents rebellious behavior in a manner that is ineffective to any real constructive change. Outlandish clothing and decorations are nothing new. It sends a message; that I am part of the in- crowd, a new elite and free of constraint. The masters of advertising and public opinion cover all of their bases and most "trends" are manufactured to relieve you of your money. Think Edward L. Bernays when you think you think for yourself.
