Default Why isn't any politician talking about this? - Population Growth

"We’re adding 77 million energy-consuming people to the planet every year." Not one politician (including Al Gore) has talked about population growth in regards to many of our problems!

Because you would lose every election by talking "negative" could be one reason.

I don't see how the American government could control something like that.

There are a lot of things that a government can do about population growth.
1. Make immigration quotas stricter.
2. Structure tax rates and welfare programs so there are fewer rewards for having children.
3. Make birth control easier and and more certain.
4. Make abortion an easier option and make a law agasint bombing abortion clinics.
5. Pay men to have vasectomies, or offer them free of charge during half-time of NFL games.
6. Allow medicare to cover medical costs outside the USA, which would encorage seniors to retire abroad AND would save billions.
7. A similar PR campagn to the ones that convinced Ameriicans to invade Iraq, or embrace capital punishment, or drive SUVs, which had spectacular results.
8. Ban the Catholic Church.
9. Put saltpetre in the food, like they did in college cafeterias.
10. Drown baby girls or sacrifice virgins in the volcano.
11. Give everybody a gun.

I'm not necessarily advocating any of these---I'm just giving some hints to those of you who threw up your hands and said nothing CAN be done about it.
