Default Today I Said Goodbye To Old Glory

Old Glory has served us faithfully for 4 years. Her broad stripes and bright stars graced the front of our house from Memorial Day to Sept 12th of every year. She lasted longer than the others I have had- I guess because we have had a 3 year drought and she didn't get rained on as much as the others. But 4 years outdoors eventually wore her out. As we folded her for the last time and handed her over to troop 117 for her final burial, I felt a bit of sadness. Yes, I know she is a piece of cloth and that another will replace her next spring. But I just had to say to her "job well done".
