People seem unable(or unwilling) to answer some simple questions such as how much money does the FDIC have,how quickly will the FDIC pay you your money back and the banks begging to be saved are perfectly safe....

I'm a poor teacher... I'm employed by the state... so there's security in that I suppose... as for money in the bank... yeah well not really a big problem for me when you make a teacher's salary...
I put my modest investments in gold 2 years ago...and its done really well... what little bit I have in the bank...isn't making me freak out.. i'm just kinda laughing at all this....

You need to think about two separate scenarios.

A) All banks fail. Big trouble. But everybody is n the same boat as you are, except those who have tangible gold. And a gun.
B) A few banks fail. Eventually, you will get something from the FDIC. Your credit cards will still work, but not debit cards on your failed bank.
