hi first time voter here. I want to vote on Nov. 4th. How do I register to vote. Is there an official website?

I guess it's better than not voting at all.
I would much rather register ahead of time and have the option to not vote rather than not being able to at all.

I don't know how it works in CA, but a lot of states have provisional ballot laws now where anyone can show up at the polls and vote on a provisional ballot. The precinct then has to verify that the voter is eligible, but that can take a few weeks. Doesn't really matter in CA though, since it's a winner takes all state and Obama will take it.
