honestly, I think opinions are like ***holes.. everyone's got one..
but life is always a two way street
I think judgements and opinions are weighed upon what people are exposed to.
American's who tend to have negative opinions of the wrest of the world including arabs tend to be people who haven't traveled much outside of the US. The other end of the blade is the opinions the rest of the world has for americans. Many foreign people assume americans are greedy and rich because their only exposure to american culture is corporate ideals. Most people who actually come to america realize that it is not the case.. and I think any american that has traveled to the arab world understands the issues there and don't make generalities and assumptions about that group of people.
I think the answer to that would really depend on what location or country that the Arab comes from. ie.. I view Dubai as more modern and open minded than portions of Iraq. Its difficult to put diverse group of people into one category.
I think that Saudi Arabia and a few other Arab nations could do more to promote woman's rights, but their rights, or lack there of, will hopefully change over time.
