Oh I dunno. Something about "no person shall be denied life, liberty or property without due process". I'm sure I've read that somewhere and it probably prevents the gov't. from just seizing people's legally-gotten assets whenever the public is in a frenzy. BTW, if you were told to cough up all you earned in the last two years, would you be able to write a check for that amount? Besides, all exec. compensation combined, even that from the guys who did a good job for their shareholders, would be a drop in the bucket of what the gov't. is paying for this bailout.

It may be possible that capitalism is on the verge of being replaced by
nationalization in this country.

Entirely agree that a heavy tax should be imposed on these capitalists but in reality that would be a violation of their rights [tax vs representation principle].

What about the violation of our rights? I guess the middle class is just there to get steped on, lose their ss benefits, and end up working on the rich mans plantation.

What rights of your have been violated by anyone? I'm talking real rights, the kind found in laws, not the ones people think they have.

You just asked this question the other day. Why not just bump the original thread?

The answer to your question is "because such an act is tyrannical." One easy way to reduce our own chances of being the victims of tyranny is to not exercise tyranny.
