I could'nt be happier, all of the big blue liberal cities in the U.S. with Seattle the exception, are hemmorhaging people to red states like never
before, not only is your tax base dwindling, but after the 2010 census, you will be losing house and senate seats. Statistics don't lie, and your cities will die. Peace out.

I agree. I stated a similar point in "Keep New Hampshire - New Hampshire."

It's forcing most of the new businesses to relocate in "red states" such as Nevada, Colorado, and Texas.

Places like San Francisco and New York are highly dependant on tourism, beauty, differentiation, and other things besides taxes. Without them, they'd be under like Detroit.

There is definitely a migration going on.
And a lot of south and south/west cities simply annex new additons, while northeast cities do lose tax base.
But I am unconvinced that this situation is as cut and dried as you two seem to think.
In this new world economy, I am not sure how much influence Joe Sixpack even has, but certainly a message was sent by the citizenry back in November.
At any rate, if my little community is any example, a sleeping giant has awakened, and what once was a conservative good ol' boy network is now having quite a shakeup.

Except by 2010 your beloved Republican party will have made itself a permanent minority party because of the rampant arrogance, waste, tin ears, meanness, and a general inability to govern. So I don't feel so bad about this at all. Peace out

PS- States can't lose Senate seats no matter how much population they lose. That's the point of the Senate- every state gets equal representation. So next time you feel like gloating, take some time to educate yourself first.

Your right, but wrong because it's still possible for democrats to lose these seats.

I think Liberal migration is a good thing. It's the best way to turn some red states into blue states.

Is this good news for you or bad news? These so-called liberals leaving the cities are moving somewhere. Maybe to your neck of the woods?
