Obama will go down in history for starting the 2nd Great Depression.
He may also go down as starting some of the biggest trade wars this country has ever seen.
He also will go down as the man who reduced our military might to the point that our enemies will be knocking on our door steps.
He will also go down as the man who increased our deficit to the highest known levels to the point that the country will be screaming.

president-elect OBAMA has won by "ONLY" 3%, 4million people. America has spoken. WE ARE DIVIDED. split down the middle. sadly not all that could vote did. hopefully this country will work the middle. or there will be a "change" in the next 4years. so to the far left or right. shut the hell up. the correct things for this country is not radical, social overhaul that some like pelosi wants to go. may GOD bless this president.

Good luck with your vote.

You own the next 4 years. And don't forget it when it all caves in.
This response is exactly why Obama won. Your unprovoked attack of a fellow American for having a different view, your taking pleasure at their anticipated failure, and your name-calling and derision--all of these things were rejected on this election night. You divide your country with a sneer on your face. Blame yourself for the result. Such hateful ways will no longer be tolerated.

Apparently you liked the ways things were. Tonight, the majority felt otherwise and acted on it.

Would Bush be responsible for where we are now or does that not compute? If Bush isn't held accountable for where we are after 8 years, then logically Obama can't be blamed either for whatever happens. National economies and Presidents are not related. The President has little effect on a boat that large.

While I agree we are on track for a Depression, I'm not going to blame Obama for it. It's been in the planning stages for quite some time. His acquiescence to the corporatocracy will be his error unless he stands up for himself and removes the hand up his suit. But because this economic downturn is unavoidable, the military will suffer as a result from more stupid wars designed to thin out the remaining population of this planet. America will close its doors like a failed dotcom and its assets distributed to the highest bidders.

While I'd like to soak in that good cheer and hope after tonight, I still heartily believe this election, like others before it, is a superb production of a manipulation of the masses. Somebody should be handing out Oscars. We're screwed no matter who was allowed to win.

Actually, Hannity is licking his chops - just like the rest of the right wing talk radio crew & blogosphere. It's much easier to throw stones from sidelines w/no real responsibility to do anything. It's been working for Kos & the MoveOn crew for years.

Besides, everyone predicted Limbaugh's downfall in 1992 & Clinton's election was the best thing that ever happend to Rush. His ratings rocketed up over the next 2 years and firmly esconsed him on the peak he still sits on today.

Hannity, Limbaugh, Ingraham, Levin, etc will laugh all the way to the bank.......

I don't believe the race was between Hannity and Obama, though. Hannity is a TALKING HEAD and nothing more. Stop taking what he says so literally! IT'S HIS OPINION and analysis of the political situations. AND he has Combs on there to balance the opinions that are thrown so it isn't completely one sided.

Wow.

Well, I can see Barack is already doing a really fine job of uniting the country, what with the first task of many of his supporters apparently being to rub salt in their ideological counterparts' wounds and all.

Despite all the flowery rhetoric of hope and change and making history, I suspect this is going to be a largely unhistoric (melanin count notwithstanding) and unremarkable 4 to 8 years. Hannity will still be here, the unhinged left will still be here, they'll still be shouting at each other, unity will still be nowhere in sight, and it will be business as usual.
