Every gay person will admit that their homosexuality isn't a choice, it was never something they sat down and asked themselves. It just was. For those who might claim it was, it only came after they spent years denying what was already innately true. Now, I realize some bisexual people will claim they consciously made a decision, but then they didn't have a choice in being wired to accommodate both persuasions. In other words, they didn't choose to be bisexual, it too just was. Naturally, and perhaps logically, the same conclusion then applies to heterosexuals.

One may choose who they have sex with but they don't choose their sexuality (who one desires to make them whole).

Your argument that it is an unconscious choice is weak in my opinion. It's like, if gay people claim they didn't choose, then since I (meaning you) don't think it's right, I'll just claim it was an unconscious choice so I can still maintain my moral superiority. I (meaning me) think it's disheartening that straight people cannot fathom that gay people are just like them. They insist on the difference; they insist on keeping the distance between them.

If the Christian church ever admitted that homosexuality was an innate personal characteristic, the rest of its tenets would be called into question and the religion would fall apart. It is my view that the hatred (is there any other appropriate word? I don't think so) that is directed towards gay people is because it is the one thing in modern times (apart from an alien invasion) that could easily dismantle the faith. Gay people will continue to be the enemy of the church despite all the logical arguments and mounting evidence that proves its view is hogwash.
I will admit that IF I was gay i would want to believe I was born that way but being I'm not I don't have that problem and knowing that nature doesn't work that way I don't believe it, if men and woen were not meant to be together then we would have been sexless, the grouth of the gay community is just a resukt of change in social values. it's not about rights, those could be gotten in civil unions and Domestic partnership, it about forcing others to except your lifestyle as normal and it's really not.

There are scientists who would disagree with you about the "nature doesn't work that way" part.

I am all for discrimination myself. I am tired of the socialist federal regime punishing the majority interests for the sake of the minority interests at every conceivable chance.

Oh, I am not for or against prop 8. It does not effect me one way or the either. As far as I am concerned the people have spoken.

I'm not for ANY form of discrimination. I see any form of deliberate mistreatment of another human being as evil and just wrong. That being said, right or wrong we are all entitled to our own personal beliefs and opinions. America is still a democracy and as you stated, the majority of Californians have spoken.

I have met some gays who have compared people who are against gay marriage to nazis. So by their definition, most of the world's population is made up of nazis, because most of the world's population shuns gay marriage.

Have u every really tried to change. I was gay once maybe still am, but I will never sleep with a women again. I fight it ever day but it feels good to know that I am doing the right thing. Being gay is a choice u r not born that way. If that is true then God is a liar and I do not think so. The sin is not loving another man its sex with the man that is a sin.

It is rejected in the black church and in the black community. How the slaves worshipped is still how most black churches worship today. White people came out of the closet first wanting rights, then the blacks followed. Had the white gays never came out the black gays would still be in the closet. But see black grandmothers are not having that gay, ****. She will go to church and stay on her kneels praying that devil out of you. The black grandmother is the base of the black family. I am so glad that I have a black grand mother that prayed that devil out of me(Prop 8 all the way)

IMHO deep christian beliefs in the AA community born thru hardship and traditions that have not died with new age thinking.
the white churches had watered down a lot, but not so for many that have stayed faithful in the AA community.
there is just not a place in the traditional church teaching for being pro homosexual.
its just not there. at best tolerance and mercy but pro gay, no way.
bear in mind simple christianity is deeply based in essenes ascetic faith.
the flesh has little place in this belief system.
