Interracial Marriage Should not be Allowed (racist, state, federal, voters)

Well, since a minority like gays and lesbians cannot get married, or the right was taken away, then blacks should not be allowed to marry white people. Let’s put it up for popular votes and bask in the idea of non-equality for the blacks. I am not being racist. But maybe it will remind them of when they sat in the back of the bus. Maybe then they will be more open about gay marriage and EQUAL RIGHTS for every one.

Sounds good to me. Let's also outlaw Irish marrying Italians, Jews marrying Christians. No self-respecting Police Officer would ever marry a Nurse, and how could we ever stand having a Minister marry a Secretary?

I know -- outlaw marriage!!!! Then everyone has equal rights. Right?

I was wondering about this myself. A lot of the argument against gay marriage (that wasn't based in religion) was that the people have spoken, it shouldn't be allowable. Yet, the people spoke against interacial marriage in the not too distant past.....I recall stories of interracial couples being seen as 'married' in one state, yet they cross state lines and suddenly are they not married, they are breaking laws!
While I usually am against federal mandates, I for one am glad the supreme court spoke on this issue...aren't you?

Someone told me the other day that (whatever her version of it was) the Bible forbids interracial marriage. It involves the mixing of cultures, which she said God frowns upon.

I understand the premise of your thread and the satirical value and all, but I've no tolerance for this whole mindset wherein we start blaming black people for Prop 8. Counterproductive and just wrong.

Your post seems to suggest that Blacks are the only race opposed to gay marriage. Which is faulty...I'm a Black woman and I have absolutely no problem with it. To each, his/her own.
