Already with Obama at the helm, an EXCELLENT CHOICE. A Columbia Law grad from NY and a talented, highly educated, exceptionally qualified lawyer who happens to be African-American. I think these are great times where highly qualified African-Americans will have greater opportunities. This is a progress.

Technically speaking... replacing white people with black people is indeed "change", looks like Obama is set out to do what he intended in the first place.

I don't think it's a matter of replacing white people with black people.

It's a matter of finding the best person for the job and filling that position.

Why do you think in the past everyone in these positions were white?

Do you think it was because white people were the only ones qualified?

There was a latino who had the job and failed (Gonzales), and there have been whites who have failed as well (********).

If Obama does one thing during his tenure, I hope it will be to give the public exposure to others of different ethnic groups than have not been traditionally running things, so people will see that whites aren't the only ones who know how to do a job.

People need to stop looking at skin color

Sure there was, they made it a point to call her the First Black Secretary of State in the beginning whenever they could pull the race card.
