I just feel like it is important because it is your identity; there are certain traditions and mannerisms that we learn because they've been passed down from generation to generation. How are you to learn where you got that recipe for chicken breast except to dig deep into your heritage?

It tells you who you are; I can't picture anyone not wanting to know that.

Why not? America is full of all kinds people. Of course if im traveling i'd tell people in American, not Egyptian, Welsh, French, English, Irish, Scottish and Native American. I actually like when people talk about their cultures, that's one thing I love about this country.

Why does it bother you so much that I take pride in my culture, and enjoy living it?

So the OP probably doesn't know his heritage or it is less exiting like native American.
Not that Native American heritage isn't exiting or interesting but it I think you know what I mean..maybe.?

If you do not know where you came from you don't know where you've been and you will be some surprised when you get to where your going.

First, there are many other places that are just as good as America. You should also note that if every other place on Earth sucks that this country, by corollary, would also suck.
There is more to America than just being American. One needs to remember their past, and one needs to know their place in the world. American exceptionalism, if ever it existed, is now undoubtedly dead. The idea that every other place sucks only reinforces the mentality that has most hurt this country. It allows us to exaggerate problems, and ignore others.

All the other countries in the world are either third-world or socialist with extremely high taxes.

Tell me can you not post without swearing?

Heritage is important. I don't think people moved just to escape you know. Prospects weren't as good then as they are now here.

Im guessing with your "attitude" that you've never set foot out of the US. It shows with your ignorance towards us "Europeans"

Sorry all but these sort of people bug me. My dad is half Italian and im proud of that.

Yes and the US is just problem free and perfect? Why then are so many of your people moving to Scotland or the rest of Europe?? Ever country is unique remember. Tell me have you been outside of the US?

From reading all of your posts all you seem to do is down every country except the US and portray a very ignorant image of yourself. And how you hate gays.

Im sure xenophobics and bigots aren't tolerated in this forum. (Not a personal attack, just making an observation)
