TRENTON, N.J., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Internet matchmaker eHarmony.com has agreed to provide services to people seeking same-sex relationships, under a settlement reached Wednesday in New Jersey.
The online dating service was sued in 2005 by Eric McKinley, a gay man from New Jersey, after the matchmaking service refused to take his personal advertisement, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
i'm sure there must be dozens upon dozens of online gay dating services. should they be sued by straight people?
I could not believe the absurb arrogance and sense of entitlement that forced that corporate entity to service clients not of their choosing. When did it become litigious for someone to decide the type of dating service they wanted to run? More importantly, what right does a court have to cram inclusivity of gays into said corporation's structure?
What was the company hiding that made it cave in to the demands? That's the bigger question. JDubsMom interprets this as gays forcing themselves on society--perhaps she needs to read things more thoroughly.
What I found surprising was that eHarmony originated from Focus on the Family, an extremely conservative organization. So, again, what were they doing that they decided to cover up? What made them relent?
They relented because of the financial implications. They were not hiding anything. They realized they would not win in today's sick environment and decided it was easier to "pay" by starting a new service for homosexuals.

It is sad that private businesses are being intimidated to operate in ways that goes against their beliefs. When I first heard about EHarmony offering services to gays, I lost some respect for them.

When a PRIVATE company is forced to change their business practice at considerable expense to keep a few homos happy, it is a sick environment. Don't like a company's business practice? Don't shop there.
Sad to say it but the "Gay Mafia" is on the march. I get the feeling that they are going to challenge and legally threaten any and every group, company or organization they believe to be not pro-gay.
The gay community needs to pick its battles and not rage out of control. Imposing upon private companies and "outing" people who contribute to the Yes on Prop 8 campaign will not win any sympathy.
It is amazing and disappointing but not surprising that in our society still are many blind,unloving humane beings whose unjust opinions and ideas can discriminate with harsh,violent actions to the gay community. We all deserve equal rights! If jesus, ala,buddha, and all truthful religions agree about love they all agree that the truth will never be silence! Equality for all
