LMAO... I've been "over" the holidays for many years now, thanks. The whole point of this thread is telling the Christians to GET OVER IT - Christmas isn't that special, and we aren't going to tiptoe around or fake "Christmas cheer" for you. Sorry! Wish I could be cheerful about it, but unfortunately our society ruined the true spirit long ago.

Frankly, I steer away from the "gloom and doomers"
I love Christmas - I love the season - I love what it represents. I look forward to being with family from far away. I look forward to the warmth of being with friends
I love celebrating the gifts of what God brought to us - the wonderous life he has made for us.
I'm only sorry that there are some who cannot feel the joy - the happiness of Christmas

If this country was established as a Christian state you might have a point, but that is simply not the case.

Well than lets just go all the way then. Lets change of the names of cities such as: St Louis, San Francisco, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Sacramento, San Diego, San Luis Obisbo, Santa Barbara, St George, St Augustine, St Petersburg, and Santa Fe. Lets have seven work days a week. Lets also have a new calendar with the year 233 starting next year.
Lets definately do away with 12 person juries(12 diciples in case you did not know). Lets also stop making people swear on bibles in courtrooms too for that matter and for public officials as well. No more holidays for anyone too. Lets also make words such as God, Jesus, Moses, Muhammed, Buddah, and Allah, criminal offences.
IS EVEYRONE SATISFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of mine came over on the Noordland from Liverpool in 1913. The other side sprang full-blown from the brow of Zeus. Or does that characterization violate the ever-revered Wall of Separation between Lurch and Fate?
I keep forgetting. Maybe it's the eggnog.

Sounds good to me - the more secular, the better! But seriously, words and names are hardly a valid comparison to making something a federal holiday... oh well, I'll be enjoying my day off, and plan to sleep most of the 25th away.

If you're referring to the founding fathers, you DO know that they didn't want this to be a Christian nation, right? You know, that whole " As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;" or that pesky " “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.”"
So, no. I will not "get over it", as it is constitutionally WRONG to have ANY religious holiday as a "national holiday".
Either take all religious aspects OUT of the holiday and never refer TO the religious aspects of the holiday or do NOT give that religious holiday special recognition.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I'm not religious at all, but it's nice to keep to certain traditions. The whole offense issue is really pathetic, I honestly just want to punch some sense into those kinds of people.
