I'm doing my own protest and only buying Christmas cards if they say Merry Christmas. I refuse to buy the Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, etc. because I am greatly annoyed that Christ is getting pushed out of Christmas.
Went to Hallmark to buy some. Guess how many boxes I came home with that said Merry Christmas.... none, zero, nadda. Hallmark had a handful which said Merry Christmas but they were ugly and I have not yet gotten that desperate. I bought 3 boxes of religious cards. None say Merry Christmas but the picture/message on the front is very evident of what Christmas is all about.
Merry Christmas to all.

Well, I hope everyone you send them to actually celebrates Christmas! I usually get generic "Peace on Earth" cards, since my loved ones & acquaintances are a combination of Jewish, Atheist/Agnostic, Christian, Catholic, Hindu, and probably one or two of everything else. Guess you only associate with Christians or Christmas-Christians...

And then people wonder why we call Christians schoolyard bullies... "if you don't like it then leave" is about as UN-American and UN-Christian as one can get. As for celebrating Festivus, I already have a holiday to celebrate in the winter - one that is older than Christmas and much more beautiful & holy than what Christmas has become to most (commercialization and fighting).
No matter how much you stomp your feet and throw a tantrum, the fact remains that the US is NOT a "Christian Nation" and many people of other beliefs live here. Maybe you should look into moving if this is a problem for you, because this country was really founded on freedom and diversity. Ever heard of the expression melting pot?? If the founding fathers wanted a nation ruled by religion & majority-dominance, I imagine they would have stayed in England.
Ya know, Canada isn't looking too bad right about now... despite it actually being a Christian nation, they don't seem to have this pettiness I see in Americans every year. I love my country, but the divisiveness is getting worse every year, it seems - which I find very disheartening and scary. I never hated Christmas more than I do right now, and it's only because of this ridiculous debate and whining over the "war on Christmas." Used to love the holidays, but now I wish they would ALL just fade away. So if anyone is ruining the spirit of Christmas, it's people like you who can't stop pushing it on the rest of us (in a hateful manner, nonetheless).

Apparently you don't care that the founding fathers said that this country was NOT a christian one and was NOT founded on Christianity. Nor do you care about the constitution and everyone else's rights either.

There are many in a couple stores near me that I saw recently.
In the spirit of your season, I would be happy to pick you up a few boxes - up to 10 of them - particularly pretty Merry Christmas cards, and send them along to you.
I am sorry you could not find the kind of cards you want, even if you wish to send them out without regard for the preferences of those who might get them.

I think the Virgin Mary images are quite beautiful... I also love going to different churches, and one of my most memorable experiences was visiting this AMAZING Catholic church in Costa Rica. I have no problem with Christians/Catholics or Christianity, but I am starting to hate Christmas - Bah Humbug.
And in regards to the Hispanic community, even though they're more religious than probably 90% of Christian Americans, they don't push it on other people. My neighbors never proselytized, and I don't ever recall being ridiculed or scorned for not celebrating their holidays. Most are VERY gracious and curious when they find out I'm Jewish, and only want to learn more about my culture and beliefs... maybe Costa Rica is a better place to move than Canada? Hmmmmmmm.

I don't know how much I believe this. But whatever, you know your area better than I do. The vast majority of my card recipients are Jewish (my family and also the fact that I go to a Jewish college) and between 4 stores that I went to in order to find Chanukkah cards, there was only a choice of about 6 and a grand total of 10 cards. I need at least 35! And CERTAINLY no boxes of Chanukkah cards. The store that had the most Chanukkah cards (the local Hallmark) only had 4 while there were at least 300 Christmas cards and about 100 Happy Holiday cards.
War on Christmas my butt.

My little Jewish butt can trace it's heritage back to Anthony Morse ( Descendants of ANTHONY MORSE - Morse is my last name in fact) who immigrated to Newbury, Mass in 1635. My family remained within a 20 mile radius of Newbury/Newburyport until father moved with my brother and I to Atlanta in 1990. My family was American over a century before the country was founded- and longer if you trace my Native American roots. Would you really like to tell me to leave what is most certainly MY country because I chose to say Happy Chanukkah or Happy Holidays over a holiday I most certainly do not and never will celebrate?

I'm making my own.. which, actually, really is the most effective way of waging a war on Christmas, isn't it? Not lining the pockets of the greeting card companies! Just overpriced stamps.
