I have my theories, and they all revolve around political correctness, and the fact that the field of psychology is for the most part a very liberal field politically. I don't think it is right or fair to remove it, seeing as these poor souls do suffer from an abnormality in the brain and many would likely benefit from treatment.

This "abnormality", as you so quaintly put it, is shared by an estimated 3-6% of the general population of humans and at least 1500 other species that are known to practice homosexuality.

Why don't we just get all the "normal" people to get counselling and turn them into homosexuals? In a couple of generations we could reduce overpopulation problems and we'd all have well-kept houses and learn to accessorize properly when we dress.

Gays got ourselves declassified as "sick", blacks refused to sit at the back of the bus and Jews get their own country. Imagine that.

Perhaps you should get a lobotomy and tell the rest of us how it works.

I have my theories too. They all revolve around heterosexual homophobes with an obsession about homosexuality, possibly their own. Now, why don't you screw off, mind your own business and let us normal people live our lives the way we want?

What "treatment" are you suggesting? And, could that treatment also benefit heterosexuals who are unhappy that way - like women who hate the way men are, but marry them anyway? I could never understand that "abnormality".

Abnormality in the brain?

I'd say this thread is a perfect example of abnormalities of the brain and the gays and lesbians are NOT the ones exhibiting them.

Exactly--it should go both ways.
