Who is "moderate", in your opinion? What constitutes a "moderate"? Is there any such thing as a "moderate"?

Arlen Specter, Colin Powell, James Baker, Olympia Snowe are all people that I would consider moderate Republicans. Michael Steele and Megan McCain are two examples of moderate Conservatives who have recently been vilified by the far Right pundits in the party like Limbaugh and Coulter.

When the far left leaves the White House, the far right will cease fire.

There is a county in my state where a certain 'conservative' element strung piano wire across trails where mountain bikers and hikers (treehuggers) did their thing. They also shot a woman who had the nerve to skinny-dip in a remote hot-spring like some kinda hippy.
What a bunch of nut jobs.
I will agree that liberals are tough to argue with, though. They get mighty uppity. Probably a reaction to Rush and Hannity. Can't say I blame them too much.

What do they have to get uppity about? Their opinions and viewpoints are not based in reason or logic, but rather emotion. They have this child-like view of the world, that only if this and this were done, then everyone could live in peace and harmony. It's a utopian pipedream. Not only that, to meet their ends, they advocate discrimination against white people, non-white immigration into white lands, which helps destroy the traditional cohesiveness of the population, something that has existed for thousands of years. This then effects the quality of schooling, crime rates, and a number of other social factors. You'd have to be insane to support such policies.

who did that to the trails? The libs or conservatives. I had issues with some liberal wackos booby trapping mountain biking trails here, putting bikers in danger.

Saying that all liberals subscribe to such notions is the same as saying all conservatives would like to actively send all Blacks back to Africa with a Jew under each arm. Yes, those people exist but they are on the fringe.
Why do so many conservatives assume that all liberals are extremists? Mind you, I'm a Libertarian and my views probably align more with your own than with liberals, I'm just commenting on stereotypes (of both sides).

Ummm, definitely conservatives. there was a movement in said county to force all citizens including children to carry a firearm at all times to protect against rabid wolves. The county already has a law stating that every household must possess a firearm and one must file an exemption if you refuse. But then you would be shot. ;-)
And lest you think I am some wussy liberal, I own six guns (including two assault rifles) Yee ha! I just don't believe in using them against hikers and naked ladies.

Maybe a bit of both. When I lived in TX some looked down on my left views, but at the same time I f*ckin hated some of my republican co-workers in CA

Both have it rough but Liberals in Red States are openly made fun of and called unpleasant names as well as threatened with violence. The Rush Limbaugh mentality has crept into everyday society so his followers use his same tactics in public. Conservatives also love to agitate liberals just to get them upset.
Liberals simply act as snobs towards the conservative elements in their blue states. They are talked down to and dismissed as being uneducated or stupid. But liberals don't agitate and call names as the conservatives do.
