Haha, classic! Not surprising her hysteria would run that far. Although I'm surprised you would have those tattoos, I thought you were atheist?

Actually I don't care if Rudolph is christian or not. What bothers me is that some greedy lawyers found yet another way to cash in. Do they have no limits to their greed? Christmas is supposed to be about kids. Making them happy. Young children like to sing the song. Let them....

My dds were going to parochial school -- I may be agnostic, but unlike some people I do know how to tow the line

I have an idea, every single time some parent sues to prevent a song, or a play, or a display based on religious grounds have the parents of the kids who want to have the song sue them for infringing on their rights to sing the song.
The reason most of these law suits work is that no one really does anything besides go, "Can you believe what the crazy woman did to our Christmas play?" Our country is based on individual rights, but the courts can't protect the rights of the majority if they never hear a suit filed by the majority.
And if that doesn't work, take them to civil court for emotional damages for little Johnny. "He was so excited to be Rudolf this year, and now that he can't sing he doesn't even want to celebrate Christmas!"

Coca Cola cemented "the look" of modern Santa. Look at 19th century depictions and you will also see elves and things that look to me like goblins.
Sad story. What a waste. And for once its not a rabid athiest.

The next thing you know, someone will bring a lawsuit against the playing of "Happy Birthday." By what right does anyone assume that you want a happy birthday, after all?

Because the Christians won't let anyone else have their holidays in peace.
See, I can make generalizations too!
That being said, I'm all for the taking taking the religious context of Christmas out of public schools and away from government in general (Due to separation of church and state), however, Rudolph and Santa are not religous concepts. They're social concepts.

I recall Jehovah Witnesses doing just that, as they considered birthday celebrations in the workplace to be in opposition to their christian beliefs.

Ahh yes, ONE person does NOT make up the entire "left" and it would be extremely stupid to think so. I don't think all Republicans are as stupid as Bush or as evil as Cheney.....
