I will break down and say I am a 10 being as liberal as me is hard work. LOL OK OK I will admit I am about a 4 or 5. But Why does the scale go to 100 if I can only go to 10?
Socially I'm an 8. (Although there are some on the "Good For Virginia" thread who probably see me as an 11 .) I support urban revitalization and slow growth in the 'burbs, marriage between any two consenting adults and expanding research into energy alternatives to oil, among other things.
Fiscally I'm a 6. Ideally everyone would be self-sufficient and duly charitable. However, I think there are some people on both ends of the socioeconomic spectrum (so-called "welfare queens" and "trust-fund babies", for example) who game the system to the detriment of hard-working people, especially in the middle class. But I'm admittedly biased to believe that there are more poor that are eager to contribute their fair share to the economy than the wealthy. Therefore, I support the continuation of government-sponsored job training programs as well as a progressive, not flattened tax code.

I came up squarely in the middle of libertarian left. Not too much of a surprise on the social part. The economic part was a little further left than I expected. But I can accept that.
Depends on the issue. On some things (mostly economic, labor, and environmental issues), I'm so liberal that I make Ralph Nader look conservative. Other areas I'm more moderate. The only area where I am completely and totally conservative is the abortion issue.

And I dont consider President Bush to be very conservative. I find he is pretty liberal on certain issues like immigration, and wish washy on true conservatism issues like anti-abortion measures. He likes to introduce legislation that have a low chance of succeeding like the gay marriage amendment to keep conservatives happy but most see through this. Like most politicians these days, he is controlled by special interests no matter what political party you belong to.

you know,to describe it best Im a libertarian,which in this day and age has nothing to do with modern liberalism.
face it my friends here who are liberals,liberalism almost always looks to government for solution as well as regulations and "limits" and thats not freedom or is in tune with the spirit of liberty and America's spirit.Liberalism does not = individualism.
Certain conservatives try to promote their brand of morality...thru legislation which is not in step with American ideals either.Nothing wrong with morality or promoting morality,but better to persuade people instead of legislate them.
so dpending on the issue depends on my response or side.
