Banks that are getting taxpayer bailouts awarded their top executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses, and other benefits last year, an Associated Press analysis reveals.
The rewards came even at banks where poor results last year foretold the economic crisis that sent them to Washington for a government rescue. Some trimmed their executive compensation due to lagging bank performance, but still forked over multimillion-dollar executive pay packages.

Their execs make 20 - 40 times what their counterparts make in Europe, Canada and Japan, for being 20 - 40 times worse.

Any business which receives government loans should be held and accountable for the pay of their employees & executives, as well as bonuses.

If they are not receiving government (taxpayer) funds, I could care less how much they make because it is not my business nor my money.

$1.6B was the direct amount the AP study found. Imagine what they were unable to find both directly going into their pockets and indirectly such as remodeling their offices and more lavish off-site conferences?

Its the American way -at least the way it is now, which is to have Congress get panicked and tell us the world will end if we dont immediately give tax welfare to the rich, and let them continue to live their royal lifestyle, but when the blue collars need a bailout - put all sort of pay cuts and benefit cuts in before they get anything. The 'royal' rich **** on us again!
