Not to mention warrantless wiretaps, 100% tracking of the American citizenry and the McCarthyite "Lists". After all, they told us they needed these things to catch terrorists, and would never use them against ordinary citizens. So what did they catch? Zero terrorists. Almost a dozen up and coming Democratic politicians visiting hookers. What's interesting is almost twice that number of Republican politicains were caught in vice crimes in the same time period without peeing on even one copy of the Bill of Rights. So shouldn't we get our Rights back now?

I do not see the liberals getting rid of the patriot act anytime soon, no matter what they say or do.
They will keep it so they can go after conservative organizations that they can call terrorist organizations.
it will suprise me 100% if they actually get rid of it.
If you want to actually hear about torture... Talk to the guys that made it out of the pow camps in the pacific from ww2. Or talk to the vietnam war pows. There seems to be a difference in what is defined as torture nowadays.

George Orwell would agree with you, or at least his character Winston Smith.

Considering BO voted for the Patriot Act's renewal, etc., while in the Senate, I wouldn't count on it.
I doubt it; torture (so-called) and unlawful imprisonment will be continued. Only now it'll be legitimate US citizens, courtesy of the Obama's "Civilian National Security Force".

Oh it already has been "legitimate US Citizens". Where have you been. The practices are much the same as in Viet Nam and WWII. Are they also "so-called"
I think Obama is a little bit different from crazy 'torture man' Cheney - course I could be wrong
