The Iraq War has been pretty pointless...

We'll have a presence there for generations to come, like in Germany, S. Korea, Japan. It's strategically too valuable not to be there.

If you mean when will the fighting end, when will the troops come home, I dont know.

It is clear Obama has no intentions of ending wars. His plan is just to shift gears to another location. The code pinkers are going to HATE Obama in the 2012 election. And then the Reps will be decrying the idea of us being world police, and the Dems will take up for Obama at every possible chance.

I LOVE IRONY!

Iraq 12/31/2011 upon agreement. Afghanistan on the other hand will see a surge and perhaps a permanent presence and a larger scale conflict after 2012.

Pointless? Let's see; Saddam's children's prison was shut down and the children free to return to their family, Saddam's torture chambers were shut down, Saddam's rape rooms were shut down, Saddam and his sons were removed from power, an elected government (one with more than one candidate for people to vote for) was created, and the newly elected government convicted and executed Saddam. And yet you say it was pointless.

Why leave, there is TONS of money left to be made. Arms sales, armored vehicles, Monsanto seeds for their crops that won't reproduce so you have to buy them year after year, there are permanent military bases to finish and some that haven't even been started yet. Airfields, McDonalds, maybe a few casino's, and certainly a few new oil wells.

Five cyber bucks says that date will come and go, just like the last one did. America is never leaving, unless we go so broke we can't afford the gas to fly there anymore.

Before bringing American troops home from Iraq, how about we first bring them home from Germany, Japan, Korea, and Bosnia/Kosovo.

America's empire doesn't shrink, it only grows larger. To pull out of those places would be admitting defeat and cutting and running...

Refresh my memory, what was the political party of the presidents that sent troops to Germany, Italy (forgot to include in my other post), Japan, Korea, and Bosnia/Kosovo?
