I came from a town that has .02% homosexuals, I knew very little about the gay lifestyle. I was always kind of the live, let live type of person. That was until I moved away and started learning about the gay lifestyle. I have conversed with just about every facet of the gay community, and overall it was mostly negative. There were a few decent people, but the majority were just self centered, selfish, and totally controlled by their "sexuality"
From my personal experience, most homosexuals that I have met had a nasty habit of reminding me every 5 seconds that they are gay. They sound like a broken record, and I am like okay I freaking get it it you are not a hetero, I heard you the first time and it gets tiring after the 25,000 time of them repeating it. It is like being gay is the ONLY part of their identity and nothing else.

That's as ignorant as saying that all Latinos act a certain way, or all Irish act a certain way. Utter nonsense. I almost feel sorry for you.

You either haven't known many gay people, or you're blinded by your own prejudice.

That was my expereince too, and not only that they also thought that their homoseuality truly defined them and that it was the most important thing in their life.
Oh, I must correct an earlier error, I meant to say that homosexuals were only 0.2% in my hometown, as in 2/10ths of a percent.
Gays are not denied the right to legalize their union, they are only denied changing the definition of marriage to mean something that it does not.
Speaking about changing the definition of something:
Ironically, it is the mistranslation of several words, and several verses taken out of context in your Bible, that many people in your religion now use to condemn homosexuality.
For Example:
"At the time of Martin Luther, "arsenokoitai" (1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy) was universally interpreted as "masturbator".
By the 20th century, masturbation had become a more generally accepted behavior. So, new translations abandoned references to masturbators and switched the attack to homosexuals."
That was my expereince too, and not only that they also thought that their homoseuality truly defined them and that it was the most important thing in their life.
What do you mean, exactly, when you say it was the most important thing in their lives, and why is it a problem for you?

My bible is from 1611 and does not say "homosexual" or "masturbator" but the point is still there.

Are you suggesting that heterosexuals are not totally controlled by their "sexuality"? That's funny. Especially given the cultural education of heterosexual women to turn themselves into seduction machines in order to attract heterosexual men: women's magazines, Hollywood, etc. It's just invisible to you because you're straight.
What do you mean, exactly, when you say it was the most important thing in their lives, and why is it a problem for you?
What I mean is that I have heard numerous times from homosexuals themselves, that homosexuality is the most important thing to them. Sometimes it was stated just that way, and other times a little more subtle.
It is not a problem to me personally, just something I thought I would point out in the defense of the other poster.

I know many gay people. They don't remind me every 5 seconds that they are gay. Are you seriously stating that the gay people you know tell you, repetitively, "I'm gay"? Weird.
