New Slogan:

"Don't Like Pot? Don't Smoke It"

Legalize it and be done with it, its been forced into the black market for so long as an "illegal drug" (yes, a plant thats been around longer than any of us) that it will remain there anyway, legal or illegal.

I can't believe that a PLANT that has been proven to have health benefits for some people is still illegal, while alcohol, which kills millions,is still OK. I'm thinking it has something to do w/ how much money could be made off hemp,if it were broght back.

"The whiskey drinking menopausal imprison the pot smoking youth" Timothy Leary, Politics of Ecstacy.

Don't ask me why I remember that from reading that book all those years ago, say 1972. I guess I am just one brilliant SOB. So much for memory deterioration

Where's the right on this? Don't they believe in personal responsibility and individual freedoms? I don't know why they've drawn a line in the sand on this particular issue (except for the libertarians in the group). Conservatives should be rallying for legalization.

Perhaps it's because drug laws let them lock up lots more poor & minorities, based on how the laws are written and enforced. Could that be it? Naaaw ... they wouldn't be that hypocritical, would they?

Looks like we have a few DARE victims on the thread. Marijuana should have never been illegal in the first place. To think there are ppl in jail for selling or even just having marijuana is an outrage and an embarresment to the legal system. Alcohol which is by far much more dangerous is somehow perfectly ok though?...lol.

With alcohol we leave it up to the individual to be responsible enough not to drive while intoxicated yet with other substances we can't trust ppl to know how and when to use them?

You can not compare child porn to weed.

A. It began with weed but ends with crack.
b.It began with touching but ends with rape.
c. It began with shoplifting but ends with armed robbery.
d. It began with a slap but ends with a knife to the back.

e. It began with making weed legal.

Ps. to the 30% of us that is still out there.....their crazy around here.
but dam I love the food.
your argument makes me question your intelligence. childporn has a victim ie the child. armed robbery has a victim ie the robbed. rape has a victim etc etc etc. an adult smoking a joint, snorting lines, popping ecstacy or shooting heroine does so of his/her own free will. in doing so they should be willing to accept the consequences of their actions under the influence.
i object to you and people like you dictating what i may or may not drink, smoke, shoot etc

Why do you not say tobacco and alcohol are gateway drugs to crack? Probably because they are LEGAL. Well quit categorizing weed with ILLEGAL drugs, and it won't be associated with them in kids' minds.

Your gateway drug theory fails.

Besides, weed is safer than tobacco and alcohol, so you are a HYPOCRITE if you have ever enjoyed either of those.

are these trick questions? you mentioned that you are aware of the longterm effects of smoking pot. you also mentioned that you have taught your kids that drugs are bad. you then go on to ask how you would explain to your kids that drugs are bad if it was legalized.

i think i might be able to help here. if pot is legalized you tell your kids that drugs are bad and you tell the about the longterm effects. hope that helped

I do not think making pot legal for kids to get there hands on will help our society.
Look at how many people smoking as killed.

How many times have you listen to kids say "well we were smoking a little dope and one thing lead to another"

Do I think anyone who ever does weed will become addictive? no way but I also feel that we do not need to make it on hand for just anyone to get.

I think there would be more of a want for it then most people think.

We will have to just disagree because I will never feel that making a drug legal will do anthing but harm us as a society.
I remember in high school it was much easier to get weed than alcohol. Dealers of illegal drugs don't card. Legalize and regulate, for the kids.
