Personally, As an NPA voter, I dont think Mccain or Obama had what it takes to turn this country around. Mccain lost on the basis that he was a Republican and americans simply grew tired of them. Obama won simply based on his skin color, it was a golden opportunity for the masses of the american wasteland to make history. something to brag about when they have children or grandchildren one day. Anyway, can anyone on this board seriously say that any president has held true to his word....the president is only a puppet with strings going to the left and right.

Personally, If americans desire a country for the people by the people , we should oust the entire political system and start over.

The only way everyone in this country would get what they wanted is if we just instituted anarchy. Every man for himself.

I know this will turn into a typical reactionary bash-Bushfest, but that's not the point, because it was Ron Paul and him alone that was HONEST with the American people.

Ron Paul alone told us that the country was broke, and that we couldn't afford McCain's wars or Obama social welfare policies. He knew we could no longer afford "invade the world/invite the world".

Yet, the masses deluded themselves into nominating Obama and McCain, neither of which understood basic economics, or if these candidates did, they flat-out lied to get votes.

Did Obama know or not know about the economy? Why didn't he know?

Ron Paul knew.

Our electorate in this country is getting dumber and more illiterate by the day however, and they voted for Obama and McCain.

First of all, you don't win elections by telling the American voter the truth. We want all of our systemic problems to be the fault of one person even though we can't really explain what it is that they did wrongly that we should have done differently. The change message is just what it is advertised to be, change and nothing else. Since we have found it to be convenient to blame one person for our problems, changing that person is the remedy for all that is wrong. Right?

I'm with you on the third party idea, but how does Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or any other third party candidate, actually win? Obama had eleven percent of the vote wrapped up just by being black. Throw in liberals who never vote for any other party ever and the mental midgets (sorry midgets) who believe everything they hear on MSNBC and it is almost impossible for a Republican to win let alone a third party candidate. No, I'm sorry friend, but as long as the press is in the tank for the Democrats, we will continue to see one party rule and lots of mutual back scratching. Look for GE to get a huge financial windfall early this year. If Chicago politicians know anything, it is how to return a favor. The press will continue to praise their "messiah" regardless of his broken promises and ineptitude. As frustrating as it is, we cannot prevent the dim wits from voting for Democrats after Bush has been blamed for every hen that has come home to roost in the past eight years.

How about we let the President-elect get sworn in first before stating all that he is not, cannot or may not accomplish .. usually there is the "honeymoon" period when a new President sits in the Oval Office of approximately 100 days, I venture to say that his honeymoon will be one of the shortest ones noted..I suspect that he will not only have no choice but to shorten that period of time (perhaps that is why he took an extended vacation in Hawaii - which he was entitled to do) because when he brings his briefcase to the Oval Office, he will be coming in "hitting the floor running" as he will have to do...

USA economy- horrible;
World events - horrible;
Unemployment - horrible;
Housing market - horrible;
Foreclosures - horrible;

etc.

We do not have two presidents at a time....let the current one leave first and the new one come in before he needs to be criticized

Look at any president and what they promised. They really are not promises but proposals. If a presdient in the best of ties passes one big progeam in two tearms he is considered successful. Carter;clihnton promised or proposed much of what Obama has really. They in the end have alot of congressman that want too many thign so their own. A president can pass anyhing withpout congress going thru it first in both the house and then the senate.Foreign policy is the real power of a president and not domstic budgeted items.

I voted McCain, and still at this point I think McCain is the best candidate.. but Obama is our president now. We can only hope he does a good job, support him and pray he saves our country from falling!

Bottom line is...Obama is a politician, but an educated, reasonable man that is willing to include other intelligent people in his decision and policy making. If Obama had been left the suplus that Bush had, we would not be in this mess. If Obama's administration is handicapped, it is because The Bush Crime Family accomplished their real mission, which was to empty the treasury and cripple America.

If Obama can just fix one or two of the Bush train wrecks, we will be very lucky. At least his intentions are to improve our situtation as opposed to destroying us as Bush&Co. have succeeded in doing.
