Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Spider-Man creator Stan Lee is preparing to unveil the world's first gay superhero in an hour-long TV drama being filmed in the U.S.

The 86-year-old former Marvel Comics boss and creator of the Hulk and the X-Men is said to be working on a project about high school basketball star Thom Creed, who hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality.

It was published in 1986 and it had a few gay superheroes.

True, but he was the first to come out of the closet. I prefered his sister, at least she did more than whine and cry.

I always thought they could have made Gambit or Nightcrawler a gay character. Gambit was a bit too much of a womanizer and he did have a flare. Nightcrawler's character could have had an additional bit of drama of his being gay along with his devout religious beliefs. Talk about internal conflict. Then again, there's always the long running Batman and Robin rumor that'll never stop.
