Bush didn't directly wreck the economy. By his malfeasance, he allowed others to wreck the banking system due to their own greed.

He will be remembered as the first President since Pearl Harbor who was at the helm when United States soil was attacked and for starting a war with Iraq with lies/deceptions/manufactored evidence because he could not find/kill Ossama bin Laden.
No other president in living memory compares on either count.
His legacy is: the guy who drove America into the ditch.
