typical liberal biased media at it again. Just show bad pictures of one side of the issue. I could go get pictures of Tampa and make them look like I was in Alaska if I try hard enough.
The aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans was more of an example of local and state politicians not following their own emergency disaster plan than of Bush's mistakes. Gov Blanco and Mayor Nagin did not follow the emergency proceedures before and after Katrina. The slow state of rebuilding New Orleans has to do with corrupt Louisiana Politicians and the welfare mindset of many of the New Orleans people who choose to sit around and do nothing and wait for the government to do for them. Other areas of the gulf coast were destroyed in the hurricanes (see plural) and they got back up and began to rebuild for themselves. Yes, they did ask for a hand out from the government. But they didn't wait for the government before taking care of things for themselves. You might want to ask Senator Mary Landreau why didn't her campaign and family send buses into the 9th ward to evacuate people like they did when she first ran for office. Those buses delivered thousands of New Orleans voters to the election booths but didn't run prior to the hurricane. Or what about those school buses? Then
Then there were the volunteers of bus drivers and boaters who did whole caravans to go to New Orleans to rescue people but were turned back by the "Louisiana State Police". Some locals ignored the state police and found back roads from which to launch their boats to begin rescues.
Aren't all of those pictures from New Orleans? Or maybe some are from Detroit?
The only difference between post-Katrina New Orleans and Detroit is that Ford Field has more brickwork than the Superdome.
