I'm skeptical too. I think people forget Obama is an opportunist and a popular choice. We also need to keep in mind he might actually isolate America more than McCain would have done who at least supported free trade.

It's good he's diplomatic. But Obama cannot reverse globalism. Workers in western countries cannot compete with those in the developing world. I know Obama got the votes because of promises such as here:

Nationalism for workers is not realistic as we're going towards the information age. It's a new world and nothing can be taken for granted. The financial crisis have shown us how the car industry is also not effective. USA doesn't need more socialism. It needs more innovative new companies and not government bailouts.
