Obama Snubs Nation's Heroes, Becomes the First President to Skip Ball Honoring Medal of Honor Recipients in Over 50 Years | Cleveland Leader

Change we can believe in! Instead of honoring the troops, accuse them of air raiding villages and killing innocent civilians.

The military is mostly Republicans anyway, in this era of change, partisanship is behind us. Now only Democrats matter.

Quick! Inform the Joint Chiefs of Staff!
I am surprised there are any sour grapes left from the Dems after losing in 2000 and 2004

STILL waiting for a reliable source to be presented to back up this claim.
See zman's post.

The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball is sponsored by the American Legion, and co-sponsored by 13 other veteran's service organizations, including those such as the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Really, what more do you need. Look at the inauguration intinerary - notice he did not attend this ball, then go look up the last 14 inaugurals to see that for the last 56 years, every president honored the men and women of the military by attending this ball - if the link and story is not enough to convince you.

Very simple to do your own research on this if you had a mind to - but I suspect you could care less if he honored this group.

But look at his record.
This is why being a politician sucks. People are much more interested in symbolism than in actual records. Look at Obama's voting record and his assuredly qualified and competent choice of Veteran's Affairs. That beats out any ball that didnt meet his schedule.

If your problem is the honoring of men and women in the military, then I repeat, for the umpteenth time, Obama attended the Commander in Chief's ball which did that and more.

Shinseki quote:
http://www.mccoy.army.mil/readingroom/triad/02112000/Army%20vision%20explained.htm
Quote:

"First of all, it said that this Army was a strategic instrument of national policy and (it talks about) fighting and winning our nation's wars and to do that we would stay trained and ready every day," Shinseki said.
The general added that the Army was about people and that soldiers enable America to fulfill its leadership responsibilities in the world.
"Soldiers, not tanks, not airplanes, soldiers," he said.

While this is referring to military strategy, not individuals, it shows his recognition of soldiers.

I agree 100%.
