Limbaugh has always been a chicken hawk... now he's blatantly unpatriotic...
Not surprising at all...
Amazing how the left can call people unpatriotic for their opposition but when the right did it was the end of the world. I guess 1/2 of the people will always be unpatriotic.
As I was listening to that soundbite, my mind went back to Ronald Reagan, who all of these conservative guys emulate. Here's some quotes by Reagan that surprised me.
The last three are my favorite, and most telling IMO. It's downright sad that these guys claim to represent everything Reagan wanted. They are no Ronald Reagan.
Here are a couple of my favorites,
“Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face.”
“There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.”
“One way to make sure crime doesn't pay would be to let the government run it.”
But my favorite, and sepecially now is,
“In the present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem”
You remember comedians publicly saying that they wished Bush would be assassinated? Wow, I don't remember that (but it wouldn't surprise me, there are more than a few shock jocks who go too far). If it happened it was foolish of them. And as a democrat I'd be especially angry with them, not only for being inappropriate but also for driving away voters. I'm sure many people hearing a wish for a president's assassination would be turned off to the point of becoming more inclined to vote republican.
I am not sure about serious comments about assassination but this site will definitely give you a feel for what Bush bashers have said over the 8 years. We can only hope conservatives are more civil regarding Obama. I think they will be conservative tend to have more class in that area.
January 7, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C - In an effort to prevent Democrats from suppressing the right to free speech for talk radio and other broadcasters, today Congressman Mike Pence (R-Indiana), chairman of the House Republican Conference, Congressman Greg Walden (R-Oregon), Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, and Senator John Thune (R-South Dakota), Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, introduced the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2009 (S. 34 in the Senate, bill number pending in the House). The bill would prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, which would suppress free speech by requiring the government to monitor political views and decide what constitutes fair political discourse.
"The time has come to do away with the Fairness Doctrine once and for all," said Congressman Pence. "Over the past few months, some of the most powerful Democrats in Congress have made their intentions to restore this Depression-era regulation clear. However, bringing back the Fairness Doctrine would amount to government control over political views expressed on the public airwaves. It is dangerous to suggest that the government should be in the business of rationing free speech.
If Barack succeeds in ruining this country under the guise of the socialistic and regulatory bills presented by the Democratic bafoons in Congress, then America will truly suffer. The majority of voters think that Barack is their savior. Not only will he appoint Supreme Court judges that are hell bent on ruining this country --- he will even side with his colleagues to thwart free speech on America's radio air waves.
Show us some evidence of your claim! Lets see what liberal said anything near what the addict(Limbaugh in case you didn't know)said! Then we will condemn both of their statements!
Boy people must be afraid of Rush and he is only one man. I don't particularly like him but will listen to a few sound bites from time to time. He is much too full of himself for my liking.
It is the Hollywood group that were the most disrespectful of Bush in my opinion. They were the ones that led the charge and the sheep followed faithfully. I am sure if anything close happens like this to Obama there will be great effort to squelch the freedom of speech.
I don't particularly care though because both fringes are so far out there that I feel no allegiance to either. One day all the sheep on both sides will wake up and smell the coffee. I only hope it is not too late by then.
Well what do you expect is going to happen when people spit in the face of a man 24-7-365?
You're overboard with this spit in the face stuff, get real, it never happened, stop lying.

Everybody was bringing bush down. did you get that from the approval rating statictics? it's true you know, most americans were/are just sick of this man. I think if people hear the name bush after these 4 years, they'll probably hurl.

A double standard is a double standard no matter how you look at it and hypocrisy is hypocrisy no matter how you look at it. And that can be said for both parties.
