One monkey is born with this strange new ability that allows him to gain an abundance of food. He/she then turns this into a career where he/she can support his/her family by these actions. One day when the other monkeys figure out how much he/she has saved up and all the nice things the family has they were flabbergasted. They tried everything to get their money back as they come to the conclusion the other monkey took it from them. One of the monkeys come up with an idea to kill the one monkey and his family and take his money and share it. So it happens and the monkey dies. Upon killing the evil monkey with a special ability they all look around at each other with a puzzling look. The leader steps forward and says look we all can get our money back and the monkeys go into an uproar. One monkey steps forward yelling and says "hey but where will we get the food now that was keeping us all nourished"?......

The monkeys eventually evolved but their idealism and rationalism never did...

I'm just curious as to your opinions of it.... Is the message clear, obscured or nonexistent? Can you not see how many different angles this covers?

Alternately...

There was this monkey who came up with this great idea but needed other monkeys to help make the idea into reality. When the idea was turned into a finished product, the monkey who came up with idea didn't equitably share the profits. Soon the head monkey found out that that the the worker monkey's couldn't afford to buy the finished product and his idea sat on the jungle floor rotting away. Eventually the head monkey came to the realization that when he provided equitable pay to the worker monkeys that they could actually purchase the product and they all lived happily ever after.

The Second Alternate parable.

A small group of monkey's were stronger and smarter than the other monkeys of their pack, because they were stronger and smarter, they decided that they didn't need to share with the weaker and not as smart monkeys, as a result, the weaker and less smart monkeys, became even weaker and less smart. The pack began to wither away, the lesser monkeys resorted to anti-social behavior which resulted in a break-down in the cohesion of the pack. Eventually, a lion came along and ate all the monkeys. No more monkeys, smart or dumb, weak or strong.

Ideas vs ideals.... One wins out....the other eats itself out of house and home.

A group of monkeys by nature allow the weak to die as they have no choice.

The lion eats the stupid ones who thought they were bigger and badder. The only one left was the one who figured out how to come up with an abundance of food. Even with the many tries from that monkey to convice the others how to do it he still had a gift....that unfortunately cost him his life in the end.

The ironic part is the revolving of these evolving monkeys. Same ideals continue to pop up. Intellect and will always rise only to be stifled by the envious instead of embraced.

Monkey logic will only get you so far. We're smarter than monkeys. Most of us, anyway.
