Exactly! Now we have Timothy Geithner as the head of IRS, who is a notorious tax cheat. Absolutely AMAZING! What is Obama and the other Dims thinking?

i dont think its just obama but one would have to ask any voter or politician why consider someone who has done something illegal

and the last 2 admins are not immune to idiot picks for their staff, me personally i think obama believes in 2nd chances or someone else is influencing his picks

Harry Reid is a perfect example of the liberal logic that Democrats have!

How stupid can anyone possibly be?
Of course they're voluntary.

Live off the grid, barter for work and only exchange goods and services for precious metals. The federal government won't get a dime off you and there's nothing they can do about it.

Good luck living a truly fulfilling life this way, however. But they say that freedom isn't free.

Most of them. If you're are not self employed, then your employer is required to automatically withhold (in other words you pay them involuntarily) social security and Medicare tax. Most sales taxes are also paid involuntarily.

Most other taxes are paid voluntarily. For example, you get sent a bill for property tax and then you mail in a check. However, most people give the government advance permission to collect estimated taxes in advance.

Note: Just because a tax is paid voluntarily does not mean there are not consequences for choosing not to pay it.

Nothing but a low-brow fallacy of equivocation based on two different meanings of the word "voluntary". The US does in fact have a voluntary system of income taxation, as it is the taxpayer who tells the IRS how much tax he or she owes, rather than the other way around. This is a perfectly ordinary use of the word "voluntary" in that context, but Jan Bozo or whatever wants it to mean "optional". Stupid. Interesting that Reid and Bozo are never seen in the same frame...you don't think that Bozo's part was shot later and then spliced into some footage of Reid, do you....

I, for one, am thinking that you're about as dumb as they come. For one thing Geithner is Secretary of the Treasury, not head of the IRS, and more to the point, at least half of the top 5% of income earners in this country are "tax cheats" if Geithner is. It is perfectly common in our voluntary system, for the taxpayer and the IRS to disagree over the actual amount of tax that is owed. Those disagreements are resolved sometimes in favor of the IRS and sometimes in favor of the taxpayer. That's how the system works. No one is a tax cheat for having had the IRS disagree with him or her. I guess you just don't make enough to be in an income bracket where this sort of thing would come into play very often, otherwise you'd have already realized all this from first-hand experience...

While I am not a fan of Mr Reid, it was a stupid interview. The "reporter" was a joke. Reid didn't like the question to start with, but he kept focusing on his wording of the question and not letting Reid answer and expain (which he did). Sometimes it sounded like they were not in the same room, which leads to more questions. The interview seemed to be extremely cut and pasted, and cuts off after the interviewers point is made, and you never have both people in the same shot (and it looks like different cameras and lighting was used), who knows how authentic the final product is.

But if a 6 month old, possible hack video makes the OP happy, well there it is.

Note:
Watching more of Jan Henfield (sp) videos, he is nothing more then a attack hack (makes howard stern look like a lamb). He acts and sounds like a scum bag lawyer, which he is at least one of those two!

It is voluntary - pay or go to jail, ask Irwin Schiff.

You are probably right. That would explain the pay freeze he imposed. Make us think he doing good for us but infact bulling the wool over our eyes.
Two Thumbs Up.
