You know what the real difference is here folks? I went through the ice storm several years back in Ky. We were out of electricity for 8 days. Now true, I' m sure there was then and there is now some older or otherwise disadvantaged folks that could stand a helping hand. Their neighbors will take care of most of that if not all.
Bottom line is the difference in the people in Ky vs New Orleans. I doubt most Kentuckians give a rats patutee about federal help except it would be nice to have an extra hand to get the lights and heat back on as soon as possible. I doubt you will hear them pouting and whining for the next 6 years about why Obama is a racist pig. I doubt you will hear accounts of them shooting at helicopters, particularly in that there is no crop this time of year. You would not want those folks shooting at you. I am sure you heard accounts of the Ky National Guard in Iraq.
The bigger story here is the difference between an independent red sate of roll up their sleeves and do for themselves people as opposed to somebody do for me people.

Good news, One of the tax cheats resigned today. The republicans are offering some real help with 4% housing interest rates. Now all we need is no capital gains tax for just two years and the banks will be so busy they will have to start hiring and the property will be selling faster than it did before.

That would be too simple and would work.
Naaa, lets give everybody money to buy WI's and tennis shoes and t.v conversion boxes and celebrate gaydom art and give teachers that can't spell raises and unions that won't work raises and a bottle of ripple and a thousand dollars to everybody else. Typical demoquackic stymied package.

Call your senators office tonight and stop the marxist hemmorageing or you will bleed as well.

That you are comparing a city devastated in a manner that you and many here fail to grasp with a serious, but not even on the same realm of a problem/crisis.

Yeah that would be the real difference here...

Exactly some people just can't seem to understand there's a huge difference between an entire city flooding and an ice storm. Flooding is probably the natural disaster that causes the most deaths worldwide it definitely is here in America and think about it an entire major city was flooded. An Ice storm no matter how severe just cannot compare.

Default The KY winter storms - where's the outrage?

There are at least 42 dead as a result of the ice storms, the National Guard was sent in, most without chainsaws to assist in the clearing of trees and other debris. The Guard says there are thousands they have not even begun to be able to reach, people were without power, water and food. Almost a million will be without power and water for an undetermined amount of time.
Obama was busy hosting a Super Bowl party on Sunday. When do you think he will address this disaster?

Typical Obama. He probably won't help them since Kentucky is mostly white people.

Duplicate thread. And pathetic, too. At this point, any blame should go to Bush, anyway.

Really, if this was John McCain there would be plenty of outrage.
