yes and no.
forest service sold public lands, and also received billions of tax dollars, and it seems a lot of money is flying around, and it appears as if there are some impropreities here. I know public lands in my nearby cibola national forest was sold, within the past few years and is now the private property of cattle ranchers, who have built posh homes in the forest, and private property signs are everywhere. so, why didn't these rural communities go to their state offices, or lobby the feds for help, without getting handouts from the forest service? it looks like the funnelling or transferring of assets for $$$, gives away $$$, then the forest service claims they cannot maintain it's own trails or make upgrades or maintain public use areas. confusing. the forest service just received I think it was $3B? for what? if people don't use the national parks, that's fine, but I do, and public lands are being sold at an alarming rate.
