Baby dies a week after pregnant mother was shot, killed

A baby boy delivered prematurely after his mother was fatally shot last week has died.

Cornell Angel Bollinger passed away Thursday at a Phoenix-area hospital.

Hours later, a grand jury in Pinal County Superior Court indicted Ronald Thompson, 31, on a second count of first-degree murder.

I agree with the "murder" charge...but that's just me; I happen to regard unborn children as "people". If I favored abortion, on the other hand, I'm not sure HOW I'd call this one......good question.

I have no problem with this at all. I thought legally if a fetus was past a certain age, this kind of case could be pursued under these circumstances.

Sure. It should be an added incentive not to commit crimes of violence against pregnant women.

Sure.

The death of the baby was a result of the murder of the mother, and when death occurs during or as the result of the commission of a felony, then that death is felony murder.
