Some are born with the silver spoon, while others are just plain lucky. However, there are many wealthy people out there who are wealthy because of extremely hard work and dedication.
Your idea that 'there will always be a middle class' is not totally correct.
Before the NEW DEAL, there wasn't much of a middle class at all in America. You were either filthy rich, or you were dirt poor, or you were struggling to put food on the table... There was a very very small slice that would qualify as middle class today.
Absolutely false. Where do you come up with this?

The normal situation of mankind is for there to be a very elite and filthy rich upper class, and an extremely large portion of the population either in or just a little above poverty.

We only have a thriving middle class due to the implementation of the New Deal by FDR, and the growth of labor unions. All that has been significantly reversed under Reagan/Bush/Dubya .
Oh B.S! The labor unions are largely responsible for having driven the companies for which their members work, bankrupt, by demanding unreasonably high wages and benefits (I have toured the Lordstown, Ohio GM plant and watched these "button pushers" who make way more than they are worth for what they do). They all drive a new GM vehicle every year, and the ones I know, are not what you would call exceptionally bright people. But they live very well. Most, if not all, of these people make more than a lot of small business owners I know, with far fewer responsibilities.
There definitely is something wrong with our system. But it isn't the fault of capitalism, unless it's too little of it.

The CEOs should get their raises from the 'owners' of the company, the shareholders, via direct vote on the ISSUE, not just choose from pre-selected candidates for a board of directors, to rubberstamp the raises.
Okay let's play your little game.
The shareholders vote for CEO compensation. They of course being us. The problem with that is class warfare. You guys jealous of the rich would try and pay that CEO $50k or as little as possible. What person in their right mind with innovative ideas is going to enter into that lunacy? People that want money aren't stopped at the border and told they can't leave America.
I would be interested in knowing the occupations of those who support the opinions expressed by the OP. Maybe that will shed light on why they have such bitterness and envy of the "rich"
Are you suggesting that people that aren't wealthy should vote against their own interests?

My take on the whole thing: make em pay. And I'm not jealous...I just think they should pay, afterall they get all the spoils, why shouldn't they? snobs

I agree. I think we should start with this list and work our way down until Obama is done spending money and not mine. I think we should not just tax them but also seize a large portion of their assets. I do think it is only fair though to make the ones that supported Obama pay twice as much. I am sure they won't mind either.

As I said before, if you are not happy with the way companies do business, then you can either find another employer or start up your own company. Unless you are an owner, you don't have the rights to tell a company how to run its business.

Believe me honey, I would not be looking for a date on CDF. I am particularly turned off by the petty envy and stick it to the rich attitudes that I am witnessing in this thread in particular.

Even if you are not looking for a date I think you would be a fun one. Just don't tell my wife I said that.
