He's lucky they didn't boo him.
He won't say it because the "surge" was not a success. In any case, the "surge" was nothing more than a pay-off.

Please provide evidence that Obama voted against the military. As for "insulting" military people: sorry, but many, many people go into the military because they don't see any other options for themselves in this supposedly equitable society.

They didn't boo him because they would catch hell for it. And also because there's no indication that they wanted to.

I don't know,...... I heard Obama's speech at Camp Lejeune(sp?) and there was quite a bit of cheering as he listed all that he is going to do for our military...loud cheers for a G.I. Bill to help with education, a pay raise, relief for those who are on their 3rd and 4th tours, aid to families of the soldiers, better health care for the wounded, better equipment(even though REPUBS will scream bloody murder if their taxes are raised a penny to support our troops!!!!!!!!!! ).

....what wouldn't they like ???

I think the military will find a good Commander in Chief in Obama....

The surge was a success by virtually all accounts - except of course for the Left, who will never admit it because then they would have to give bush credit.

When you have such a dramatic turnaround in terms of violence, AQ is virtually decimated in Iraq, and the extraordinarily goods things happening in Iraq - you can trace that right back to the surge.

Why do people have so much hate in their hearts on this forum?

Obama hasn't even been given a chance to prove whether or not his decisions work - and they're the same decisions Bush and McCain made / would have made in this crisis. There's just very few options at this point. Either you let the markets completely crumble and perhaps rebound, or you do what you can to keep as many people working and able to pay their bills until their rebound.

Come on. He's still overwhelmingly popular and we do not think his election was a big mistake. In fact, the more he has governed the more comfortable I am with him as president.

You spend your days trying to find anything you can to mock another human being. What does that say about you?

This video doesn't prove anything unless you're just dying to find some reason to insult our president.

Be more productive.

The "surge" was a payoff. The Bush administration offered the Sunnis a payoff if they would join the Shiite-backed government. And the Sunnis took them up on it.

Actually you can't make this stuff up! Obama will provide more than enough to point out in the next 4 yrs!
Hate has nothing to do with it! It is news worthy considering all the attacks the dems have laid on the military obama too. He got the response he should have gotten from those who are fighting with their lives for us.

Straight from the left-wing talking points.

The sunni's were inticed to fight on our side, but that is a minor factor compared to the impact that our troops had on the situation. The sunni's were fed-up as well with the violence and brutality of AQ.

A minor factor? Right.

Obama has shown nothing but respect and admiration for our military. Anything written or spoken to the contrary is a lie.

Ending a useless war concocted as a power grab so soldiers can go home and raise their children and be with their spouses demonstrates far more respect for them than marching them to their slaughter for no greater purpose than pride.

Takes wisdom to fix a mistake of that magnitude.

And what do you expect from the military? It's predominantly conservative. It'd be like judging a response to Bush at a Peace Corp gathering.

Time to grow up, everyone.

Obama is the Commander-in-Chief whether or not they like it.
A soldier should never go against the orders of his superiors.

I would say the exact same thing if Palin, Michael Steele, Rush Limbaugh or anybody had won.
A soldier's duty is to follow the orders of his superiors.
