... a radical?

Come on, BigJon. Obama's doing the exact same deficit spending that Bush or McCain did to get us out of this mess. Only difference is that Obama's making investments in infrastructure and new energy.

Let's stop with the fear-based rhetoric. You can disagree with it on principle, but there's no major political party in the United States that wouldn't be doing it right now in some form.

Reagan was a radical. Unless you can name another President that ran on smaller government?

Bigger deficits?

Not until Bush II.

The ideology looks good on paper, though.

Forget social security.
At last count, there are only 2.5 workers per recipient.
Soon, it will be 2 workers per recipient.

Half slavery will become very unpopular.

Good luck finding people who weren't fond of him.....
Same can be said of FDR which you have admitted not being very fond of.

Hmmm... using vastly different ideology, both Reagan and FDR dropped unemployment by large amounts in response to very different economic crises and were both very popular.

Maybe, just maybe, one ideology isn't always right.

That's the argument that I have been making in several threads. Perhaps we had moved to far to the left and needed a jolt back to the right and therefore maybe Reagan was the right man for that time. Now we have moved way to far to the right and need a big push back to the left. Our ability to keep ourpublic and private sectors balanced is what has made us the most succesful country economically.

Hmmm sounds like have heard this thinking before.
Like you can't change the old, but you can get the young ones when they are in school and change the country to mold it the way you want it.
Its nice that all conservatives dont "understand" homosexuals, blacks, mexicans and atheists their for that is reason they are conservative.
So nice to see tolerance is alive in well in the liberals minds of America and this is the kinda future they look forward too.
