When people think it is more important to increase their ratings than it is that their fellow citizens be at peace with one another and work together to accomplish the common good then I think they are unAmerican.
You are sooooo right. Hanitty Limbaugh and chums don't care about America. They just care about being radical and earning a fortune by stirring up hatred. If being rude, abbrasive,nasty and pompous is suddenly the "American way" then Hanitty and Limbaugh are the poster boys for this behaviour.
Hannity, Limbaugh and others are entertainers and commentators.
They bring up current events - they bring up controversies.
And there is nothing wrong with doing this.
If someone is unhappy with the way they "operate" then, don't listen to them.
But that flies in the face of the Alinsky model of publicly demonizing, demeaning, and marginalizing opposition viewpoints and those who express them. Not acceptable in obama's America.

Some might argue that certain of the entertainers on the left (Oberman for one) have "nothing of any real substance to say" either!
