I can't imagine anything more embarassing to our State Department. To imagine that given all the supposed intellegent people running our state department they couldn't find a person who knew the russian language well enough to know the difference between "reset" and overcharged" is unbelieveable and a sad commentary.

Also, what's the deal with giving the russians a red button...my god the symbolism of this is incredible and unnerving or at the very least in somewhat poor taste.

See, now, none of these blunders would have happened if Hillary had been the chosen nominee. She would have sent Bill to the soviets as Secretary of State and all would be well....

This whole administration is filled with the tacky and poor taste retreads of the former Clinton administration. None of them had any class. And none were particularly bright.

Contrast Hillary with Condoleezza Rice. No comparison. Condoleezza Rice was probably the most brilliant Secretary of State we have ever had.

Clinton has no class, and no knowledge of international affairs. She has no business being in the position. She is an embarrassment.

She even said they went to extraordinary efforts to get it right...

Just google it! How hard is it to get a translation?/?????? There's so much information out there... take 5 minutes.

Just shows how inept this State dept. really is.

[quote=nononsenseguy;7768175]Can you imagine if it were Sarah Palin? This would be all over the news with people saying how stupid she is, and unqualified.

OMG they were all over her for much less!

Well, I'm here to tell you that Sarah Palin would have made no such mistake, and neither would have Condoleeza Rice.

He should have kept Condi she has the friendships and connections in these troubles times and she is one smart cookie too!

And Obama totally dissed Brown and the UK. This isn't the first time, either. The first time was sending back the bust of Winston Churchill, a gift to the people of the United States.

Just another display of elitism and not knowing what the hell is going on in the world. Worse yet are the Clintonites that are in the WH and they did not inform him that was not appropriate!

This time, after receiving some very lovely and meningful gifts from Brown, and his wife (and very expensive too), the Obamas returned the favor with a collection of 25 DVD's of American Movies (all available to anyone on Amazon.com) and for the children, a $15 replica of Marine One from the gift shop, that any tourist can buy.

Pathetic just pathetic!

This is so tacky and low class that it demeans all of us as Americans. Yet this "President" said that we were going to be respected again. Sorry, Barry, or whatever your real name is (does anyone know?). You are so low class you do not deserve the title of the office you hold.

It is very "sad" that Clinton would be so damn "stupid" and those around her could be so damn stupid to do and allow such a thing to happen.
Totally not even a bit funny!

Did you see where she rewrote history in front of Europe?

Considering the past with Russia is a red button really appropriate? I wonder if she even has a clue how close the Soviet's came to actually pushing the button.
Well lets all be thankful she didn't say "We begin bombing in five minutes."

Stabbing myself in the eye with a fork would be less painful than the pain I feel for this country right now.
