Conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh and newly appointed Chairman of the GOP Michael Steele are killing an already badly marginalized and crippled Republican Party with their nonsensical forays into the limelight.

Yes, the GOP is in their death throws and justifiably so. I would say RIP, but they only deserve to rot in hell.

Most everyone thinks this is a ploy by the Obama administration to take the public and nitwit media's attention off the new loaded with earmarks budget and the Spendapalooza Act of 2009. It looks like it's working as there are more "news analysts" (liberal and conservative) weighing in on this than the spending our country into oblivion issue.

Advocating a one-party government is foolish and naive in the extreme. The GOP needs massive overhaul and reorganization, not annihilation. Otherwise, we are no better than the rest of the communist and third world entities. Sadly, many are advocating just that, all "equal" global partners of third world status.

The GOP will probably be back at some point, but at present they just continue to shoot themselves in the foot with this ridiculous Limbaugh worship and internal squabbling. Added to the braindead denial of responsibility for the problems they've created and their stubborn opposition to all proposed action towards addresing the economy, they're alienating large segments of the voting public.

I'd like to see them come to their senses sooner rather than later. America works best when the opposition party is functional.

Have you ever heard of The Green Party? The Libertarian Party? The Progressive Party?

I wonder if you felt this way back when Rove, Bush, Cheney and the rest of that cabal were gleefully rubbing their hands over their "perpetual majority"? Thankfully it didn't last as long as its model, the "thousand year Reich".

Most everyone? Hardly. Only the people who think Limbaugh had anything on the ball in the first place. Everyone else is absolutely thrilled that he's got his foot jammed so far down his throat.
