muelskinner - I do not think President Obama is the "lesser of two evils". I think he is clearly the best man for the job.

Yup and his "JOB" seems to be to transform our republic into a socialist nanny state.

Shouldn't that be cradle-to-grave socialist nanny state? I mean, if we're going to do sloganeering, let's do it right. No problem with most clichés and glittering generalities in an environment such as this one...they can serve as useful buzzwords. But fleshing those out some might still be something of a requirement, eh...

I am an Independent who refuses to buy into either party's rhetoric. I REALLY have a hard time understanding how anyone can just blindly vote a straight ticket for either Democrat or Republican. I like to look at the candidates and what they offer and stand for regardless of party affiliation. In this past election unfortunately it came down to voting for the lesser of 2 evils, but unfortunately we got the greater of 2 evils.

While listening to a Barbra Streisand CD with a Jane Fonda workout video running on the plasma flat-screen with the sound turned down?

Plenty of people used to feel that way. Then we morphed into an era where it's the Party of "We're flat out going to try to destroy the place" on the one hand, and the Party of "We're going to try not to do that" on the other. Doesn't leave much to choose from, regardless of what name is on the ballot...

Sag - this time I think we had a real choice. I thought we had real choices the last two times as well. The gap between Bush and anyone with a brain or morals is huge as is the gap between Palin and anyone. McCain was just another Republican hack.
