WASHINGTON — More than 1-in-10 workers were unemployed in four U.S. states in January, the government said Wednesday in a report that pointed to a rapid deterioration in the job market.

The unemployment rate in Michigan was 11.6%, up 4.3 percentage points from a year earlier and the highest for any state, the Labor Department said.

Everyone with half a brain already knew the credit crisis would end up causing massive unemployment as more and more businesses can't get credit they delay expansions or shut down operations. That's why people laugh at Republicans who claim we should just do nothing. We need massive government action to break the downward spiral. The Republican do nothing approach was a disaster when Herbert Hoover tried it and it would be a disaster again now.

Well your plan appears to not be working. All these jobs that the stimulous is touting could be created sure but when the money runs out after a year the states are on the hook to keep em going. Where will that money come from? It's all smoke and mirrors. Most of that money won't even go into the till until next year. That bill is to get folks re-elected in '10 and nothing else. Well pay back to the unions and illegals too.

Being constructive is what Dumbocrats need to be rather than expecting government handouts... Hell, even the illegal Mexicans are willing to work!

Come on now.... let's think realistically.... This guy portrayed a multi-billion dollar scheme. He has the name of Madoff. People look up to him like a gangster. This has Hollywood status and fever, we haven't heard the end of this.

You may think I'm ignorant, but actually I'm very intelligent. Anyone with an IQ over 80 should be able to see that Obama is nothing more than an inexperienced fraud scumbag, which makes Dumbocrats the ones who are completely ignorant...including you I might add.
