Your fear of Obama is pathological. Perhaps you should consider therapy?
Maybe you should just take some Soma.

Progress is lovely.

In the linked article the author states
Quote:
We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has “loaned” two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. Atlas Shrugs: "Something of Historic Proportion is Happening"
Wow. I had missed that.
Looking on the net I have not found the answer to the mystery - just more articles about the mystery.

Anyone know more about this?

The Glenn Beck types have entered full panic mode, which probably means we're more than half way through this mess. That's what happens when you belong to the party of denial, by the time you're ready to accept reality, it's already passed you by.

While they're bellyaching and throwing the word "Socialist" around, the government they so loathe has stopped us from entering the second great depression.

Personally I'd recommend you do us all a favor and spend some time in your doom bunkers, try a decade or two.

I don't think you can really say that without, you know, an actual depression, of the great variety. Thus far it's just been a lot of government waste.

I am a student of history. Professionally. I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus. Something of historic proportions is happening.

I thought you said you knew history??

How can effect come before cause?

Yeah, they are so frightened of speeking their mind that have a website where they can spread their fear and outright propaganda. BS. Nothing worth seeing there except for an insight to how such fear is spread through the far right community. Must be a long hard life living like that.

Well, I certainly hope that you are right and it is just doom and gloom,
(not so sure about the statement that the govt stopped us from the second great depression, anyhow) because.....

if the Feds are nervous, that makes me nervous.
They see a financial event and aren't sure what their next move should be.
Let's hope they make the right move.

The Federal Reserve appears to be increasingly nervous about the long term bond market. This is serious. How panicked are they? After leaking a story on Friday, they are back at it on Sunday. EconomicPolicyJournal.com: The Big Collapse Could Be Very Near

What really has me spooked is another article out this afternoon (on a Sunday) that Drudge has even picked up. It's a Reuters story by Alister Bull. The headline: Federal Reserve puzzled by yield curve steepening.

Translation, the Fed doesn't know what is going on, but they are really scared. EconomicPolicyJournal.com: The Big Collapse Could Be Very Near
Quote:
The Federal Reserve is studying significant moves in the U.S. government bond market last week that could have big implications for the central bank's strategy to combat the country's recession.

But the Fed is not really sure what is driving the sharp rise in long-dated bond yields, and especially a widening gap between short and long term yields. Federal Reserve puzzled by yield curve steepening | Reuters
Don't want to be too redundant - there is a whole thread on it at The Big Collapse Could Be Very Near .

BTW,
China has been yelling at us to stop spending and we have been snubbing our noses at them.
Let's hope we listen before they call in their chips or we will be hurting.

China held about $768 billion of Treasuries as of March. For the fiscal year that ends Sept. 30, the U.S. deficit is projected to reach a record $1.75 trillion from last year’s $455 billion shortfall, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
