I wonder if this rating has anything to do with the 09 Budget that he just OK'd? W left that rope for the new guy to hang himself with...and he did'nt dissappoint.
Unfortunately...Business as usual with the new guys
Bush and Clinton, especially Bush, did not have to fight against a ratio of 9 to 1 (conservative writers and talk show hosts vs. progressive) like Obama has to fight against.
Bush did not have left or progressive equals of hate filled vermin like Limbufoon, Insanity and Mann Coulter, having a big NATIONAL audience, spilling lies or exagerrations (like the stimulus package being "loaded" with pork, when in was less than 2% of what was in it), everyday to the people, thanks to the telecommunications act (irresponsible ownership of the airwaves).
Randi Rhodes and folks like that at the start of Bush's term, most Americans didn't even know who they were at the time, that's why Bush is getting more of a pass, at the start of his term, then Obama is getting.
You've got to be kidding right? The left-leaning-fact-hiding-showing-halo-above-head-pro-Obama-media....especially pre-election, was projectile-vomit-nauseating.
Obama said what he thought he had to say to get elected, with not much thought to what he would actually have to DO once he was. His numbers will drop continually as people realize he was full of hot air.
His entire premise was nothing but what people wanted to hear. No plan, no realism. Just talk.

You libs are so sticking-head-in-sand.
You cons are laughable and can't see beyond Rust Limpballs.
If the Republicans would stop worrying about Obama's approval rating (which is undeniably high) and instead make some attempts to rebuild their own party, then maybe they won't be extinct when 2012 rolls around. The Republican party of today is in shambles and all they can do is try to pick fights on the school yard.
Wake up! You are losing your relevance to the majority of Americans.
Maybe you should start a thread on that then? Any opinions on the actual topic?
I agree with those that point to generally lower ratings the longer the person occupies the office--historical trends indeed.
While ratings have their place they are not paramount compared to results and results are what we need. The great train of giving away America--of cornering opportunity for the privileged--and unbridled financial charades must come to a halt.
If the Adm. can make even a reasonable dent in these issues I don't need to see a glowing rating chart.
The powerful with much to lose are very tenacious with locked in protections in many cases--it will be difficult for any Adm. to loosen their grips--but it can be done and the sooner we start the better it will be for most Americans regardless of political affiliation.

Oh so very clever with the name calling.
It is a good thing conservatives have class other wise you lefties would explode from what the names would be for obama!
